Actual Quote Comparison for Seico Buildings Insurance

I've just phoned up Jon and had a quote of £67 for a rebuild cost of £73k, which includes accidental damage.

In comparison, my current insurer that I use, quoted me £165 or £125 for no accidental coverage

That's one heck of a saving.

Landlords Buildings Insurance

As promised, I am pleased to announce that we have been offered a really good rate with Seico (Clickcover) for Landlords Insurance. It may well have been better if I'd had more responses but nevertheless, most of us will benefit significantly from this price.

Please publicise it all you want! You may know landlords in other areas that don't make it to our Peterborough event but that doesn't matter. Tell them about the deal because they can get it too. They just need to phone or email Jon Shortell and they'll get the same offer, though tell them to mention Peterborough Property Investors Group (or me) so he knows which rates to link it to. The more the merrier!

Some of you are already insured through Clickcover but that doesn't matter. You can still get these rates. Indeed for you it will be very easy as the company already has your information.

You can contact Jon on 01273 778888, fax him on 01273 206565, or email on jon@seico-insurance.com.

Here's the email I received from Jon:

Following on from our discussion earlier today, I am pleased to confirm that based on the information you have provided and considering the potential business which could be introduced to our insurers, we are prepared to confirm a rate on 80p per thousand sum insured on buildings. Therefore based on a property of £100,000 rebuilding cost, the premium would be £80 plus 5% insurance premium tax.

The policy would automatically cover Property owners Liability up to £5,000,000 and up to 20% loss of rent cover.

The policy excess with this provider is £200 but can be negotiated.

This rate would include HMO properties and in order to confirm a quotation. I would need to have the full address, type of property and how occupied.

I hope the above will secure interest from your fellow landlords and would be pleased to speak with them to offer our assistance.

This arrangement means that each landlord gets all the benefits of a block landlords policy in terms of cover and premium with none of the pitfalls such as another landlords claims increasing your premiums.

9th March 2009: Maximising Your Rental Yield - Lets Rush

We are writing to inform you about an exciting event taking place at 7 pm Monday 9th March 2009 at the Town Hall Chambers to be hosted by Letsrush Ltd (Property Management & Lettings, www.letsrush.com).

The purpose of the event is to help new and existing Landlords understand how to maximise their rental yield. In our experience, it doesn't matter whether you have 1 or 100 properties, the majority of Landlords are overlooking an excellent opportunity to:

  • Reduce void periods
  • Increase rental income (yield)
  • Remove the cost of rent protection
  • Do away with the need for a deposit
  • Advertise your property to over 9,000 Tenants
  • Have the reassurance of knowing your property is managed by a Peterborough City Council accredited Lettings Agent

Not only will we be dispelling a number of myths and prejudices about the rental market, but we also have a number of prominent guest speakers that will also help you to better understand the exciting opportunities that will benefit you and your investments.

Letsrush also agrees to pay each Landlord £100* for each property (* visit www.letsrush.com for Terms & Conditions) that is transferred to Letsrush Ltd. Yes, that's £100 per property! So, if you have 10 properties then that's £1,000 in your bank!

The event will commence at 7 pm on Monday 9th March 2009 at the Town Hall Chambers, refreshments will be provided. Please telephone Letsrush on 01733 320757 to reserve your place or places if you wish to bring a friend.
